It is an inbuilt mechanism to prevent change. Similar to any other situation in life where you try to change your other habits.

Not to worry. Create a mindset. Accept that there will be resistance. Accept that you will need to persist. And you will be able to win the battle, over your mind and body. Be ready. Be strong. Handle it. Your success will depend on how strong you can be against your mind and how hard you can persist against your body.

Putting it another way, you have to be ready to step outside your comfort zone. Believe in your ability to push yourself beyond your current limits. As you push hard, your limits will expand. Your will power, like muscles, will strengthen. Very soon you will be able to overcome every possible resistance and move steadily in the direction of your ideal weight.
